Florida State 2018 RB recruit Charles Strong holding firm to commitment

A check-in with one of FSU's 2018 commits.

Florida State’s 2018 three-star running back commit Charles Strong, out of P.K. Yonge High School in Gainesville, Florida, made his first visit back to campus since committing to FSU on February 28th for this week’s Jimbo Fisher Football Camp. After his visit, Strong shared how his trip to Tallahassee was going.

"I’m enjoying it, it’s good competition. Coaches are treating me right, working me, giving me something bigger for the future, teaching me a lot of things that I don’t know and getting me ready."

Strong, who just recently turned 17, measured in at 6’1, 226 pounds during his visit. But even though every bit of that weight shows up in his impressive frame, it didn’t stop him from showcasing a surprising mobility to go along with it. In fact, Strong felt so strongly about his abilities that he compared himself to an established current member of the Florida State backfield.

"Dalvin? I can do the same thing he is doing. He’s working hard and it gives me the motivation to work harder too."

Strong also confirmed that he is intending on enrolling early at FSU in the spring of 2018

Strong admitted that he has been courted by a number of other elite programs including Florida, Clemson, and Auburn. Regardless of the attention, he made sure to assuage the doubts of the FSU faithful by denying the possibility of visiting any of these schools and affirming his commitment to FSU, saying, "I’m going to Florida State. It’s my home."
