Defensive tackle Shavar Manuel (6'4, 290) is bound for JUCO due to academics, per 247’s Josh Newberg.
I’m told 2016 FSU signee Shavar Manuel is headed to JUCO in Kansas (FREE) https://t.co/8GDEFSfmhV

At this point, we do not know whether FSU will continue to pursue him as part of a future recruiting class.
Manuel decommitted from UF before signing with FSU on National Signing Day. You’ll remember UF sources were quick to publicly air their concerns with the issue of which they were clearly aware before the flip.
As far as depth goes, FSU was able to get four-star tackles Cedric Wood and Wally Aime (JUCO) in for the Spring semester. So the immediate impact of the loss of Manuel is negligible.
This reduces the total number of signees to 24 from the 2016 class, and adds another available scholarship for the upcoming 2017 cycle. With confirmation of the Jack Steed arriving on-campus as a scholarship punter, the net result by our calculation is for one more scholarship to be cut prior to the upcoming regular season.
