Florida State football, recruiting news: Fall camp dates announced

Bud and Ingram released another podcast discussing ACC media days. Topics include how much ACC teams have gained on Florida State and Clemson and what ESPN’s ACC network means for the ACC.

The Noles look to be finalizing a deal with West Virginia to play in the 2020 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta. West Virginia is a great early season opponent as they will likely be good enough to knock off Florida State but not as tough as a stronger Power 5 school such as Alabama or Oklahoma. It generates views and cache for FSU early on in the season.

It’s always good to hear what other areas of the country think about your team. The News-Gazette out of Illinois is certainly a different area of the country so lets check in

Their description sounds about right and they do have the Noles going 11-1. Number 8 would seem a bit low considering the schedule Florida State plays but this is also a good reminder that the ACC has a ways to go to respectability. However, it seems like the conference is on the right path.

Fall camp will open August 9th with a Jimbo Fisher press conference at 1pm. First practice will follow. Media will get their big chance to shine August 14 as Florida State will be opening their doors to the media at 9am. Fan Day has yet to be announced but has traditionally been the same day as Media Day.

Recruiting

Jerry Jeudy will announce his college decision on Thursday with Alabama expecting to gain the receiver's commitment.

Noles in the pros

Gerald McCoy had some nice things about Jameis Winston, echoing most everything everybody who’s spent any time around the 2nd year player has said.
