This won’t take long. Not many ‘Noles wearing the garnet and gold No. 37 have racked up a ton of postseason accolades, so today’s bracket is rather abbreviated. But leading it off is one of just two Florida State players to have worn 37 for four years: defensive back Stan Shiver (the other: fellow DB Keelin Smith).
Shiver bookended his FSU career with All-American nods, including a second-team Freshman All-American selection from Football News in 1985 and an Honorable Mention from the AP in 1988, when he was also a second-team All-South Independent choice. Shiver’s nine career interceptions have him tied for the 19th most in a Florida State career, and he was a 12th-round pick of the Green Bay Packers in ‘89.
Punter Chance Gwaltney is the only other ‘Nole to be decorated wearing 37. He was a second-team All-ACC selection in 2002.
