Each summer, Nike opens its Beaverton, Oregon campus to some of the top high school football prospects in the country in the form of the Elite 11 and The Opening. The former, a quarterback competition, took place over Wednesday and Thursday, although no Florida State commits competed. From Friday to Sunday, however, several future ‘Noles will be in action.
The jewel of the Seminoles’ 2017 recruiting class is five-star cornerback Stanford Samuels III, and he’ll represent the garnet and gold on team Vapor Rush. A pair of four-star FSU commits, receiver D.J. Matthews and running back Zaquandre White, will be paired up on team Alpha Pro. And four-star defensive tackle commits Ja’len Parks and Cory Durden will also work out, although DTs are not assigned to teams, since they do not participate in 7-on-7 games.
Our Bud Elliott is on scene and will have all your coverage, including player interviews, highlights, and other updates from Oregon, so be sure to check back often throughout this week and over the weekend. The biggest news so far has been that four-star running back Khalon Laborn will be announcing his commitment on Saturday. FSU looks like the team to beat.
