A day after losing one 2017 linebacker commitment in Bradley Jennings, Jr., the Seminoles quickly added another, on Tuesday evening gaining the verbal pledge of LB DeMarco Artis of Sanford, Florida. Artis, previously committed to Central Florida, pulled the trigger for the ‘Noles after attending Jimbo Fisher camp in June.
Artis flipped to FSU just days after receiving his Florida State offer, and becomes the 11th commitment for the class of 2017. We had a feeling that Artis would pop for the ‘Noles at any time, so we posted a scouting report of the 6-3, 220-pound Seminole High School product earlier today. Artis boasts 30 offers, total, including overtures from Ole Miss, Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, NC State, Pitt, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Colorado, and many others.
One of the biggest questions now concerns exactly how Artis will be developed at Florida State; in what way do Seminole coaches see him contributing? Again, this is addressed in the scouting report linked to above.
