On Monday afternoon at approximately 1 PM Eastern, Florida State football head coach Jimbo Fisher will hold his first weekly press conference of the season, ahead of the team’s opening game versus Ole Miss on September 5th. Fisher last spoke publicly following the team’s Annual Kickoff Luncheon this past Friday, you can see what he spoke about here.
The Seminoles finished its 2015 campaign with a loss against Houston in the Peach Bowl, dropping its record to 10-3. It was the first time the team had less than 12 wins in a season since 2011.
Freshman QB Deondre Francois will almost certainly be a topic of discussion as the head coach named the Orlando native starting quarterback for the first game of the season, as redshirt senior QB Sean Maguire continues to rehab from ankle surgery. Fisher has not completely ruled out the senior for the Ole Miss game.
While waiting for the press conference to begin, check out our season preview thread with previews of each position on the 2016 Florida State football team.
Tomahawk Nation’s David Visser will be present at Monday’s press conference and will be providing live updates in the comments section below.
