Update: Florida State jumped up to No. 2 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

The 'Noles also jumped up to No. 2 in the AP Poll

On Sunday afternoon, college football’s AP and USA Today Coaches Week 3 rankings poll will be released. Florida State had a convincing win on Saturday, defeating Charleston Southern 52-8, something a lot of other ranked teams could not say.

In the AP poll, Florida State came into Saturday’s game ranked No. 3. The ‘Noles were only 3 points behind in the poll to a No. 2 Clemson that narrowly beat its Sun Belt Conference opponent Troy 30-24 on Saturday at home. Since the margin was so already so narrow, and Florida State’s victory is much more convincing, FSU should move up to No. 2 in the AP rankings as No. 1 Alabama will stay where it is following a large win over Western Kentucky.

In the USA Today Coaches Poll, Florida State also came in at No. 3, however closer in points to No. 4 Ohio State than No. 2 Clemson. Because of that, FSU should remain where it is at, however there is a slight possibility that the ‘Noles pull ahead of Clemson for the No. 2 ranking.

The AP Poll should be released around 2 PM EST with the USA Today Coaches Poll being released around 12 PM EST, following when the polls were released last week.
