It’s the first big game for the Atlantic Coast Conference today. A top 10 match up between No. 2 Florida State and No. 10 Louisville will be “good for the schools, good for college football, and good for the ACC,” as Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher put it.
All eyes will be on Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson. The true sophomore passed for 697 yards and seven touchdowns in two games. Jackson also ran for 318 yards and six scores. He currently sits atop the Heisman watch list and will be looking to make quick work of the Seminole defense.
Florida State comes into the game down one of their top players on defense, sophomore safety Derwin James Jr. James will be out for a minimum of five weeks to repair a torn meniscus in his knee. Nate Andrews is slated to take over at safety. The Seminoles will rely greatly on their front seven that compiled nine sacks in two games. With questions looming as to how much play time defensive end Josh Sweat will see, expect to see true freshman Brian Burns during the game.
The first big match up of the ACC this year. Will the Seminoles continue their regular season dominance? Is Jackson the answer to bring Louisville into the College Football Playoff picture? College Gameday is Live at 9 A.M. from Louisville so wake up!
