UPDATE: Florida State has moved up two spots in the USA Today Coaches Poll to No. 12.
FSU has moved up to No. 12 in the AP Poll. Tennessee, previously behind Florida State, jumped the Seminoles.
On Saturday, Florida State got back on track, defeating the USF Bulls by a final sore of 55-35. Following the victory, the ‘Noles should move up in both polls after falling double digits in placement following last week’s blowout loss at Louisville.
In the AP Poll, Florida State came into the game against the 3-0 USF Bulls ranked No. 13. In front of the ‘Noles, No. 12 Georgia and No. 8 Michigan State both fell to ranked opponents, however by a very large margin, and Florida State should jump both teams. Despite winning, there is a chance that No. 14 Tennessee jumps FSU since it defeated a higher quality opponent, No. 18 UF and were only 15 points behind FSU in the polls. In the end, expect the ‘Noles to wind up at either No. 11 or No. 12 when the AP polls are released.
In the USA Today Coaches Poll, Florida State entered Week 4 ranked No. 14. Ahead of the ‘Noles, No. 11 Georgia and No. 8 Michigan State lost to teams also ranked in the coaches poll. FSU should jump both teams, which would put the team at the No. 12 position. Tennessee, unlike the AP poll as mentioned before, are currently ranked ahead of Florida State at No. 12, which will not affect FSU.
The AP Poll should be released around 2 PM EST, about an hour after the USA Today Coaches Poll. The article, as always, will be updated once the newest polls are released.
