Florida State opens as double-digit betting favorite over North Carolina

New, 87 comments

Vegas once again has faith in the Seminoles.

Florida State is in the middle of a brutal four-game stretch with North Carolina (3-1) coming to town. The Seminoles took care of USF on the road while UNC pulled out a win over Pitt at the last minute in a crucial ACC Coastal contest.

Vegas opened the betting line for this one at Florida State minus 12.

All eyes in Tallahassee will also be on Clemson, which opened favored by three hosting Louisville. Clemson gets two extra days to prep for this, having played at Georgia Tech on Thursday night, though Louisville had a cakewalk of a game against a weak Marshall team.

Prior opponent Ole Miss, fresh off hammering Georgia, is favored by 14 over Memphis. Memphis beat Ole Miss in 2015.

Miami is favored by six points at Georgia Tech. The Hurricanes are coming off a bye. Getting the extra time to prep for the option can be a big deal, especially as the Hurricanes will be using three freshman linebackers.

Wake Forest is an underdog of nine points at N.C. State. The Demon Deacons are shockingly 4-0 and a possible bowl berth is now realistic. N.C. State has been up and down.

Syracuse hosts a reeling Notre Dame team that lost to Duke Saturday. The Irish are favored by 13 points, but Syracuse’s passing game should test Notre Dame.

Boston College hosts Buffalo, who just defeated Army in overtime. The Eagles are favored by 21.5 points.

Florida is favored by nine points at Vanderbilt. The Gators lost to Tennessee over the weekend, giving up 38-consecutive points to an offense that had struggled mightily this year. Vanderbilt came back to win against a strong Western Kentucky team.

Keep in mind that early betting lines are quite volatile and often do not resemble the final lines. They often move quickly based on very little money being wagered.
