Football:

Florida State completed the largest comeback victory in school history after being down by 22 points with thirty seconds left in the first half. The Choke at Doak was the largest overall comeback (28 points), but that contest ended in a tie.

Stewart Mandel said the Noles showed national championship mettle in their victory.

Dan Wolken, another reporter who picked FSU to win the title, said the Noles passed a significant test.

Deondre Francois showed incredible mental & physical toughness in his debut totaling 478 yards and two touchdowns. Derwin James had an incredible post-game complement for the young QB:

Derwin James on Deondre Francois: "I love him, he works harder than anyone on the team. I can say that with a straight face."

That is very lofty praise, and it speaks volumes about the character of Deondre Francois and what kind of teammate he is.

Y’all ready for some high-quality shade?

Kirk Herbstreit unveiled his top 5 after the game with the Noles jumping to 2nd. Who’s in your top 5 after a wild Week 1?

When trailing by double-digits Florida State has the best winning percentage in the country during the Jimbo Fisher era.

Ricky Aguayo did something his legendary brother never did:

He also did this:

For those who might’ve turned the game off and gone to bed early, Jon Solomon of CBS Sports had this to say:

So, how did you sleep? Say hello to Deondre Francois. Welcome back Florida State from the dead and buried.

Week 1 is over and, beautifully, none of us know where we go from here

Daniel Jeremiah, lead NFL Network analyst, picked FSU to win the title, one of the reasons why? Jimbo Fisher’s system.

Recruiting:

5-Star 2018 RB, Lorenzo Lingard made it to the game, as did recent pledge and legacy, Decalon Brooks.

Other Sports:

Unfortunately, it’s not all good news for FSU athletics, as the top-ranked women’s soccer team fell to South Alabama 1-0 on the road for their first loss of the season in four games.

Alumni:

Some recent Florida State superstars were in Orlando for the Labor Day tilt:

Jameis Winston

Jalen Ramsey

Speaking of Jalen Ramsey...he was lighting up Twitter throughout the contest:

Former FSU CB, Ronald Darby was also hyped during the game:

It wasn’t just former football players watching and talking. Paul Azinger was in the house last night:

I had a chance to talk with Zinger after the game, and he was shocked with how the game changed so quickly.

Another former FSU star golfer wasn’t as surprised:

As you can see above, the Ryder Cup was in Orlando last night. Berger is trying to join another Seminole, Brooks Koepka on Davis Love’s team this fall.

And the Bo Paske story never disappoints:

The season is off to a strong start.

DVR Alert:

“A Season With” The Showtime Program following this year’s Florida State football team will air at 10 pm Eastern time tonight on Showtime. There probably won’t ever be a better opportunity to see this far inside an FSU program under Jimbo Fisher that likes to keep things very close to the vest.
