Following a week in which Florida State (18-4, 6-3) lost as many games as it had in the previous 20 games combined, the ‘Noles tumbled from their previous ranking at No. 6 to No. 15
On Wednesday, FSU suffered a loss at Georgia Tech in which it was never even close, trailing by no less than 18 points in the second half.
The Seminoles followed up that performance on Saturday with a loss at Syracuse. FSU trailed by 18 at halftime and were able to cut the deficit to two in the second half, however fell apart near the end, allowing Syracuse to retake a commanding lead and win by 10.
FSU’s No. 15 rank is the fourth highest among teams in the ACC. The other teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference to make an appearance in the Top 25 is Louisville at No. 6, Virginia at No. 9, UNC at No. 12, Notre Dame at No. 20 and Duke at No. 21
In the updated NCAA RPI rankings, Florida State now stands at No. 10, behind ACC opponents Louisville at No. 4 and North Carolina at No. 7.
The ‘Noles upcoming games this week are against Miami and Clemson, who rank No. 64 and No. 40 in the RPI respectively.
