The Florida State men’s basketball team is, without question, one of the hottest in the country. And, according to ESPN Bracketologist Joe Lunardi, they could stay that way come NCAA Tournament time in March— literally. That’s because Lunardi, for the second straight week, has the ‘Noles playing their first two games of the Big Dance in Orlando. However, last week, FSU was a 5-seed in the West— this time around, it’s as a 3-seed in the South, against 14-seed Bucknell.
TeamRankings.com, which employs realtime simulations to formulate its predictions, has also given the Seminoles’ chances another significant bump, upping FSU’s chances of making the tourney from 82% a week ago to a robust 94% at present. TR also increased Florida State’s projected seed (from a 6 to a 5), its Final Four likelihood (5.3%, up from 3.8%), and even the Seminoles’ chances of winning a national title: last week that was at 0.5%, and now it’s 0.7%.
