Ermon Lane sat down with reporters on Tuesday afternoon. The ex-WR turned defensive back talked about the difference of catching balls from Deondre Francois to James Blackman.
Lane also said that the true freshman QB is progressing well in practice, saying he has heavily cut down on the amount of poor decisions in practice that have led to interceptions.
On Charles Kelly, Lane supported the defensive coordinator and said that thinks some of the comments made by fans on message boards on social media are getting to his head. However, he doesn’t let that show in practice or to the team. Lane says the defensive unit just needs to execute his play calls better.
Earlier on Tuesday, Derwin James also voiced his support for Kelly following the backlash he has received from fans on social media.
