Valencia Myers of Solon, Ohio committed to Florida State tonight. The 6’3 Myers is a 5* post player (ESPN #40 overall). Myers was not linked by many to Florida State, but she took a visit to Tallahassee this weekend and committed soon after.
Myers joins an already impressive class on its way to play for Sue Semrau. The ’Noles have commitments from Izabela Nicoletti (#6 overall), Kourtney Weber (#35), Morgan Jones (#64) and Amaya Brown (#82). In the 2019 class, FSU has commitments from Sammie Puisis (#13) and River Baldwin (#32).
Myers’ commitment is very important because she fills a need FSU had in the post. She’s an athletic player who flashes impressive offensive skills and is also a plus defender and rebounder.
Florida State has now cemented their position as a top-5 class in 2018. The Seminoles still may not be done, though, as targets Olivia Nelson-Ododa (#5 overall) and Queen Egbo (#15) have visited FSU and have yet to announce their intentions.
