Florida State basketball in the AP, Coaches polls

Did FSU’s first loss knock the ’Noles out of this week’s polls?

Despite the Florida State basketball team suffering its first loss of the season to Oklahoma State Saturday in Sunrise, the Seminoles remained a ranked team in this week’s Associated Press and Coaches polls.

FSU (9-1) has rattled off an impressive start, highlighted by a road win at then No. 5 Florida. They made their debut in last week’s polls at No. 19. However, a rusty performance at the end of finals week saw them take their first loss, dropping them five spots in this week’s AP poll to No. 24 and six spots in the Coaches to No. 25.

This week should prove to get the Seminoles back to their winning ways. They will up non-conference play against a pair of teams that are highly unlikely to put up much of a fight. FSU takes on a pair of RPI basement dwellers in Charleston Southern Monday night and Southern Miss Thursday afternoon.
