Despite suffering its first loss of the season last weekend to Oklahoma State in Sunrise, the Florida State basketball team remains highly regarded in this week’s NCAA Tournament projections.
FSU was a five seed in ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi’s projection last week. After the OSU loss, the Seminoles have dropped off ever so slightly to a six seed in this week’s bracket.
However, in this current scenario, FSU would be one of two six seeds that would draw the winner of an 11 seed play-in game, effectively giving the ’Noles much fresher legs against a team that played only two days before.
After a pair of wins over unimpressive teams this week, FSU has wrapped its out-of-conference slate with an 11-1 record. The Seminoles begin ACC play a week from Saturday when they take on No. 4 Duke on the road in Cameron Indoor Stadium before they begin their home ACC slate against No. 5 North Carolina January 3rd.
