’Noles look to advance to Sweet 16 Saturday night.

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-First Round-Florida State vs Florida Gulf Coast Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Florida State men’s basketball defeated Florida Gulf Coast 86-80 in their NCAA Tournament opener Thursday night. Next up for the Seminoles are the Xavier Musketeers (22-13), 76-65 victors over the Maryland Terrapins.

Late Thursday night, it was announced that FSU (26-8) would actually play the early game in Orlando against their foe from the Big East Conference. The ’Noles will play on TNT at 6:10 PM EST. Their game will once again be announced by Ian Eagle (play-by-play), Steve Lavin (best known as former UCLA head coach), and Evan Washburn (sideline reporter). If you have a cable provider, but are away from your television, or just want to watch another game, you can go to http://www.ncaa.com/march-madness-live/watch, where you’ll see links to all the action (Northwestern vs. Gonzaga, Middle Tennessee State vs. Butler, and St. Mary’s vs. Arizona will all be going on at different times while Florida State plays).

Here’s the full TV schedule for Saturday’s Second Round:

If you missed any of Tomahawk Nation’s coverage of “Dunk Nation” over “Dunk City” (many props to Florida State freshman phenom Jonathan Isaac for that), Andrew Miller was in Orlando and broke it down from the “baseline”, while TN’s lead basketball writer, Michael Rogner went Inside the Box Score (always one of my favorite features).

Curt Weiler got video interviews with Leonard Hamilton, Jonathan Isaac, and Michael Ojo, as well.

Other than Xavier vs. Florida State, which games are you most excited for Saturday? Do you have any crazy upset picks? Will you be pulling for our Atlantic Coast Conference brethren, or do you like to see conference foes fall during March Madness?

Stay tuned to Tomahawk Nation throughout the day for extended coverage of Xavier vs. FSU, including the Vegas odds, a preview of the matchup in Orlando, a Q&A with the Xavier SB Nation site, and the always entertaining (and often frustrating) game thread.
