Football:

Florida State opens a No.4 in the ESPN’s preseason FPI ranking with a 48.8% chance to win the ACC; the highest percentage in the conference but should they be the preseason favorites?

ESPN’s David Hale put together reasons why each team in the ACC can’t win the ACC & for FSU it’s a familiar trope.

The offensive line might struggle badly. It’s not as if this was a particularly good unit even last year, and now veterans Rod Johnson and Kareem Are have moved on. There’s optimism surrounding some of the younger players such as Landon Dickerson, but Deondre Francois took a beating last season. If FSU can’t make big strides up front, opposing pass-rushers could have a field day once again in 2017.

As spring practice draws to a close JImbo Fisher spoke at length about how the spring has gone for a bunch of key Seminoles:

Deondre Francois is cool under pressure & that’s why his teammates trust him.

Jimbo Fisher is the most consistent coach; even more than Nick Saban if wins per season is your measure of consistency:

The details behind the blockbuster match-up between FSU & Alabama are interesting.

Recruiting:

Florida State is hosting some big-time recruits this weekend for their spring game; including a bluechip linebacker who will be on campus today.

FSU DT commit 2019 Lloyd Murray will also be visiting

FSU has a top 15 recruiting class in basketball & they’re not done yet.

Other Sports:

The baseball team following the return of its all-american shortstop bounced back nicely with two wins over No. 16 FGCU.

Softball is No.1 for the seventh week in a row:

Alumni:

A familiar face was on campus for practice yesterday; Welcome back Telvin Smith:

One former 12-year veteran & NFL Total Access analyst continues to carry the banner for Dalvin Cook’s draft stock:

Just read his timeline for the last two weeks; you’d think he was a FSU fan.

Speaking of NFL draft stock; Daniel Jeremiah’s latest mock has Dalvin Cook going top 16.
