The Seminole hoops squad is having a nice little offseason week. First, the ’Noles landed talented recruit M.J. Walker, which was more than a bit of a surprise. It’s an addition that will make Florida State immediately more formidable— and it will need every man it can get following the departures of Jonathan Isaac, Dwayne Bacon, Xavier Rathan-Mayes, and Michael Ojo. Especially since the schedule just got even tougher.
While FSU always faces a daunting conference slate of ACC opponents, its out-of-conference foes have left something to be desired of late, outside of an annual matchup with the Florida Gators and a typically respectable test in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.
That OOC schedule was bolstered recently, as it’s been reported that the Seminoles will play the Oklahoma State Cowboys in 2017’s Orange Bowl Classic. This is a nice addition for the ’Noles, as the Cowboys have made the NCAA Tournament in four of the last five seasons.
