4-star 2019 athlete Ronald Thompkins commits to FSU

#Tribe19 continues to raid Georgia for blue-chip prospects

Tribe19 strikes in Georgia once again as 4-star athlete, Ronald Thompkins, out of Grayson High School in Loganville, GA has committed to FSU. At 5’11 190lbs Thompkins is a consensus (albeit early) 4-star recruit ranking 174th nationally, 20th at his position, and 17th within the state of the Georgia on the 247sports composite. Thompkins visited at Junior Day earlier this year and got the OK from Jimbo Fisher to commit today.

Thompkins is apart of the much heralded True19 Classic which is a Georgia-Texas all-star game of 2019 prospects that features many FSU targets and now many FSU commitments. Other True19 prospects include 5-star linebacker Owen Pappoe & Top-QB target Grant Gunnell.

Thompkins is ranked as an athlete but will likely play RB at Florida State. He is a thickly built prospect for being so young with good top-end speed. Grayson features him prominently between the tackles and on jet sweeps akin to former Clemson WR Artavis Scott; check out his freshman highlights here.

Thompkins is the third blue-chip recruit to join FSU’s 2019 Class which now has 7 commitments (3 4-stars, 4 3-stars) and is ranked No. 1 nationally; as they are 2019 rankings expect them to change significantly before the end of cycle but there’s no denying that they’re quality prospects for FSU to accept commitments from them two years before they can sign a Letter of Intent.
