Florida State has added another future offensive lineman to its class, as 6’7 253 lb. Chaz Neal has signed with FSU. A product of Zephyrhills (Fla.) Wesley Chapel High School, Neal chose FSU over offers from USC, South Carolina, Oregon, USF, and Maryland. Neal is ranked 1,224th nationally, 68th as a DE (he’ll be moving positions), and 189th in the state of Florida via the 247 Composite Rankings.
A very raw football prospect; Neal is all about upside showing the ability to maybe grow into an offensive tackle one day. The length is most certainly there. What he’ll need now is to put on the right kind of weight, as well as adjusting to life on the offensive side of the ball. Neal is a longtime commitment to FSU— he gave his verbal pledge to Jimbo Fisher’s staff after camping at Florida State during the summer of 2017 and has remained aboard since.
