Florida State football added to its recruiting class today, as Antoine Green, a receiver from Rockledge (Fla.) Senior High School picked the Seminoles. It was a quick recruitment for Rick Trickett and the ‘Noles as Green picked up his offer less than two weeks ago on June 15 at Jimbo Fisher camp.
The 6'3, 195-pound Green chose FSU offers from 30 other offers including Ohio State, Georgia, Oregon, Tennessee, North Carolina, Ole Miss, and Louisville.
At the recent Nike Opening event in Orlando Green measured in at 6’3 195lbs, ran a 4.5 forty, a 4.38 shuttle, and added a 37.5 vertical jump. All plus athletic traits which show up time and time again on his junior highlights.
One thing he has not yet added, however, is ranking from the four major recruiting services, and as such, his composite score is seriously deflated, as a low three-star. Seriously, a player with offers over the last two months from those schools is somehow still rated as the No. 101 receiver in the nation in the composite rankings, although 247 has graded him as an 89 on their individual scale which usually represents him as a high 3-star and a prospect that they want to see more film on later. He is an excellent example of how recruiting rankings debuting earlier and earlier each cycle does not necessarily make them better.
But serious recruiting fans knew about Green. SB Nation's Bud Elliott wrote about Green a month ago.
A 6’3 receiver out of Rockledge (Fla.), Green now claims offers from Oregon, Georgia, Louisville, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio State, and Tennessee. He’s yet another example of why starting ratings are much better late in the cycle, after they’ve caught up.
Green's FSU offer came during the June session of the Jimbo Fisher camp, and his commitment came just two weeks later. He is Florida State’s 12th commit of the 2018, 10th-ranked recruiting class, which figures to be another excellent class.
Green is the cousin of fellow FSU commit Jashaun Corbin.
