Football:
FSU has seen its ranking drop in the AP & Coaches Poll for consecutive weeks despite not actually suiting up; out of sight out of mind I guess.
They also dropped a spot in ESPN’s Power Rankings.
FSU is a double-digit favorite against NCSU despite new QB James Blackman being a virtual unknown.
A few of FSU’s opponents were impressive this past weekend; catch up in the weekly opponent recap now moved to Sundays.
With no wins or losses decided; FSU’s bowl projections remains the same: Orange Bowl vs Penn State.
The NFL scouts agree; Derwin James is a potential superstar at the next level.
Here’s three quick things Bud Elliott learned from this weekend’s contests.
Recruiting:
FSU saw 5-star QB Justin Fields in person last Friday. (VIP)
Likely the top slot target on FSU’s board, Jaylen Waddle, has a final 6 and FSU is in it:

Charles Kelly checked in on FSU’s top-ranked commitment, AJ Lytton. (VIP)
Top offensive line target Trey Hill is a whole lot of beef.
FSU also went and saw Linebacker target, Dax Hollified last Friday (VIP)
Other Sports:
FSU soccer dropped a close one to tenth-ranked North Carolina at home:

Former FSU golfer, Brooks Koepka is having a career year and with shots like this it’s only going to get better:

I don’t know what’s most impressive about this run? The jump cut by Chris Thompson or the fact that Lamarcus Joyner almost caught him from the opposite hash of the field:
