Florida State football, recruiting news: FSU slides in the polls despite not playing for 3 weeks

It was a busy weekend on the trail for FSU coaches

Football:

FSU has seen its ranking drop in the AP & Coaches Poll for consecutive weeks despite not actually suiting up; out of sight out of mind I guess.

They also dropped a spot in ESPN’s Power Rankings.

FSU is a double-digit favorite against NCSU despite new QB James Blackman being a virtual unknown.

A few of FSU’s opponents were impressive this past weekend; catch up in the weekly opponent recap now moved to Sundays.

With no wins or losses decided; FSU’s bowl projections remains the same: Orange Bowl vs Penn State.

The NFL scouts agree; Derwin James is a potential superstar at the next level.

Here’s three quick things Bud Elliott learned from this weekend’s contests.

Recruiting:

FSU saw 5-star QB Justin Fields in person last Friday. (VIP)

Likely the top slot target on FSU’s board, Jaylen Waddle, has a final 6 and FSU is in it:

Top offensive line target Trey Hill is a whole lot of beef.

FSU also went and saw Linebacker target, Dax Hollified last Friday (VIP)
