According to Matthew Thomas, when Auden Tate caught the game-winning touchdown on a 40-yard pass from James Blackman, the Florida State sideline celebrated like they had just won a championship.
“There's been a lot of down things going on this season and that was one of the more positive things,” the senior linebacker said. “We all celebrated as a team, we got this W as a team, and it feels good right now."
“It gave us some confidence, it gave us a mentality going forward. We can't lose, we got to remember this feeling, what winning feels like."
In a video posted by Seminoles.com, Thomas also talked about the defense’s confidence in stopping Wake Forest following Tate’s touchdown, as well as the Seminoles’ preparations with a rivalry game with Miami next on the docket.
"I mean, we’ve got some stuff to work on, but guys are gonna come ready, it's Miami week," he said.
