Florida State football, recruiting news: What are the biggest recruiting needs left for FSU?

Mark Snyder set to become the latest position coach to head to Tallahassee

USA Today

Recruiting:

It’s January which means recruiting season in full effect; FSU isn’t expected to take a full class this cycle but still has some pretty big needs to fill.

With the departure of both Mavin Saunders and Ryan Izzo one of those needs is tight end; which could soon become filled by 4-star TE/WR Camren McDonald. (VIP) FSU is currently a heavy favorite on 247’s crystal ball feature for the blue-chip prospect.

National 247 recruiting Analyst Greg Biggins had this to say about his recruitment:

Long Beach Poly (Calif.) TE Camren McDonald has a visit set to FSU for (Jan. 19) and I think there’s a very good chance he commits even before taking the trip. Noles offered a few days after Christmas and are in a very good spot right now:

McDonald’s lead recruiter was Telly Lockette before being hired at FSU.

FSU WR commit D’Marcus Adams has locked in his official visit date.

Football:

It looks like Michigan State’s Mark Snyder will take over for the departed Brad Lawing and coach FSU’s defensive ends.

Opening weekend is a long way away but there’s already a buzz about FSU’s Labor Day match-up with Virginia Tech.

Four Seminoles were named to ESPN’s All-ACC Bowl team.

In case you missed it, Jacques Patrick is returning for his season.

Basketball:

Women’s Basketball destroyed Miami.
