According to ESPN’s resident bracketologist Joe Lunardi, Florida State is not a bubble team. Yet. But the Seminoles continue to head in that direction, following a Monday night loss at Boston College.
Per Joey Brackets (yes, I just typed that, and yes, I hate myself as much as you do right now), the ’Noles have dropped again, from an 8-seed in the big dance to a 9. Lunardi’s most recent projection has FSU matching up with prospective 8-seed Rhode Island at the East Regional’s Pittsburgh venue. If they were to overcome the Rams, the Seminoles would most likely encounter Villanova, the region’s top seed, in what would be a de facto home game for the Philadelphia-based Wildcats.
Lunardi also has Florida on the other side of the East Regional as a 6-seed, and projects the Gators to be playing in the Steel City as well. That could be some fun.
