The Seminoles aren't just producing draft picks, these guys are making their presence felt.
The 2017 - 2018 NFL Regular Season was one of ELITE production from former Florida State Seminoles. In all 38 former Noles recorded snaps in an NFL game this season and many were key contributors to teams that will now compete in the NFL Playoffs for a shot at a Superbowl ring. It's fair to expect more production in years to come with the potential of the Noles 2018 NFL Draft class. Another reason to expect more production in the NFL from the current group of former Seminoles is the fact that of the 38 former players to take an NFL snap this season 34 are under the age of 30. Get this, 47% of that under 30 group are 25 or younger.
Honor Students
Jalen Ramsey and Xavier Rhodes were particularly impressive this season both earning Pro Bowl honors and a spot on the 2017 Associated Press All-Pro first team as the starting cornerback tandem. Jalen Ramsey also earned a spot on the 2017 PFF All-Pro first team receiving a 92.2 overall grade on the year. He was joined by Lamarcus Joyner and Patrick Robinson on the second team. Rodney Hudson was the third Seminole selected to the pro bowl.
Consistency, A Rising Star, Underrated
Devonta Freeman accumulated 1,000 total yards for the 3rd year in a row averaging just over 5 yards a touch. Jameis Winston finished the year with a 92.2 Passer Rating, completed 63.8% of his pass attempts and averaged 7.9 yards per attempt which are all career best. Telvin Smith was a ball-hawking tackle machine and continues to be criminally undermentioned as one of the games best. Despite missing two games with a concussion he was able to register 100 tackles for the 4th consecutive year adding an impressive 3 interceptions, 2 fumble recovery's, 1 forced fumble and 2 defensive touchdowns.
The Underdogs
Chris Thompson exploded onto the scene as the Redskins primary offensive weapon until a fractured fibula sidelined him the remainder of the year. He gained 969 total yards in just 10 games on runs, catches and kick returns. Nick O'Leary had by far his best season as a pro gaining 322 yards on 22 catches and recording the first two touchdowns of his career. His 68.8% catch percentage was also a career best. Vince Williams took on the starting ILB role in Pittsburgh after Lawrence Timmons departure to Miami. He found great success when blitzing the quarterback recording a career-high 8 sacks. He also posted a career-high 88 tackles and got his first NFL interception. Christian Jones displayed an ability to deal with adversity after seeing his playing time dwindle last season. He recorded a career-high 84 tackles and 2 sacks in 11 starts.
Patrick Robinson
What can be said about this guy? What a regular season he had. After a down year in 2016 with the Colts he ended up in Philadelphia with low expectations, injuries forced him into a critical role in the teams secondary and he stepped up to the plate and hit a home run NIGHTLY. He tied career-highs with 4 interceptions and 18 pass deflections.
The New Guys
Dalvin Cook got off to a fast start but a promising rookie season was cut short just 4 games in after suffering a torn ACL. The injury came at a time that you could really start to see the NFL game slowing down for him. DeMarcus Walker saw a limited role gradually increase as the season in Denver wore on. Look for him to have more of an impact next year as his role will like likely continue to grow.
Money
Panthers Kicker Graham Gano was insanely accurate this season nailing 29 of 30 field goal attempts for a 96.7 % accuracy rate.
