Last season, the Florida State men’s basketball team made a surprising run to the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament and the Seminoles finished their 2017-2018 season, 23-12. Fast forward to the upcoming season and both of the ’Noles top two scorers and top two rebounders make their return to the court. Senior forward Phil Cofer averaged 12.8 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per game, while senior guard Terance Mann averaged 12.6 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game.
The ACC leads all conferences with seven teams, including three in the top 10: Duke (No. 4), Virginia (No. 5), North Carolina (No. 8), Virginia Tech (No. 12), Syracuse (No. 16), Florida State (No. 17), and Clemson (No. 22). The SEC comes in second with five teams, followed by the Big 12 with four, while the Big 10 and Pac-12 each had three.
No. 3 ranked Gonzaga finished last season with a loss to Florida State in the Sweet 16.

The Seminoles are the only team in the Sunshine State included in the initial rankings, but Florida, UCF and Miami all received votes.
Florida State will play their first preseason exhibition game against West Florida on October, 26th at 6 p.m. The Seminoles will officially open their season against rival Florida on November, 6th.
