Redshirt sophomore forward Iho Lopez will be out indefinitely due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident earlier this week. The sophomore forward played sparingly in her first season last year (7.5 min/game) but she was set to see a major jump in playing time this year.
Lopez is the second FSU player lost to injury this offseason. Freshman Izabela Nicoletti was lost for the season in July after sustaining a knee injury in practice.
With the loss of Lopez the Noles are now down to only nine scholarship players. Depth will again be an issue for Florida State this year. Last year the Seminoles also had nine players but the difference is that last year the roster featured more experience with five seniors. This year the roster will have four true freshmen and one redshirt freshman.
The Seminoles will begin the year with an exhibition against Flagler College tomorrow at 2pm in Tallahassee. The regular season begins on Tuesday, November 6th in Tallahassee against Troy. The game will tip at 11am and will be broadcast on the ACC NetworkExtra.
