Alec Eberle believes that FSU can rebound in 2019, talks Florida flag plant

The senior center affirmed Willie Taggart’s ability to get the job done

In his five years in Tallahassee, Alec Eberle has seen Florida State football hit both highs and lows. Saturday saw his career end in historic fashion, albeit in a way that probably wasn’t imagined when the season kicked off in September.

Eberle said that it hurt to end his time at Florida State like this, but despite the result of Saturday’s game against Florida, he still feels confident in the talent of returning players and their ability to put 2018’s losing effort behind them. He cited the team’s growth since last season, specifically in closeness, and expressed the belief that head coach Willie Taggart is the man that’ll be able to rectify the state of the program.

“We got young leaders on this team who are going to step up next year and get this thing going,” he said after the game.

He also discussed Florida attempting to plant a flag following the game, and why he decided to intervene.
