Florida State was expected to lose to a much better Clemson team last week and did exactly that. It’s how the ‘Noles earned the L that had fans, the coaching staff, and players upset. After a close first quarter, the team laid down. It led to a drubbing of epic proportions. A loss like that highlights just how large the gap is between top tier teams and Florida State.

For now, the rebuild will have to wait as the coaching staff gets on the recruiting trail to fix FSU’s numerous issues. But that’s the focus for the off season and signing day. Saturday, Florida State will be playing to prove they haven’t quit on their new coaching staff or each other. Even in if Florida State loses, let’s hope there’s a quality of effort necessary to form the foundation for a team that looks to rebuild and improve next year.
