Florida State football recruiting: High School recap

Florida State commits and targets in action.

Welcome back to another week of updates on Florida State’s commits and targets. We will do our best each week to report all the updates and results that we can locate from the past week’s games.

A constant this season has been Florida State’s top offensive commit, Sam Howell. The quarterback has put his talents on display each week, and this past Friday was no different. Howell led Sun Valley to a 45-25 win over Piedmont. Howell had six total touchdowns in the game, four through the air and two on the ground.

Florida State recently got a visit from wide receiver target, George Pickens. This past week, his team Hoover faced IMG Academy. Pickens was held to just 39 receiving yards and Hoover fell 48-7 to IMG. In the same game was IMG running back target, Trey Sanders. He had 128 yards rushing and one touchdown in the win. The game also had several other commits and targets, including Dontae Lucas, Evan Neal and Jaleel McRae.

Florida State’s defensive back commits for next year have played all over the field this season for their teams. Travis Jay has been an offensive force for Madison County this year, amassing 17 rushing touchdowns on the season. This past week, Jay had 160 yards passing and 36 yards rushing. He ended the night with one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown in Madison County’s 28-0 shutout of Rickards.

Defensive back commit, Renardo Green, had a 29 yard pick six in Wekiva’s 35-0 blowout of Lake Nona.

And finally, in a rout, Akeem Dent, recorded four tackles and one pass deflection in Palm Beach Central’s 52-0 win over Leonard.

That’s all that we have for this week. If you know of any other information, let us know in the comments. Keep checking back each week for updates on #Tribe19 and the future.
