Joe Lunardi is considered a “bracketologist,” and for as much as ESPN gets wrong, he's typically pretty accurate when it comes to forecasting the NCAA Tournament field. And Joey Brackets’ opening projection of this season’s tourney field has the Seminoles securely in the big dance.
Lunardi has Florida State as a 5-seed in the South Region, opening play against 12-seed Western Kentucky in Salt Lake City. It is worth noting that this field was released prior to FSU’s dismantling of Florida the other night.
CBS’ Jerry Palm also has Florida State as a 5-seed, with the ’Noles in the Midwest Region. He thinks that they’ll begin play in San Jose against the winner of a play-in game. The 5-line is the average seed for FSU, per Bracket Matrix. The highest current projection for the Seminoles is 3, the lowest is 9— as of now, no bracket forecasts exclude Florida State. We’ll keep you updated on the Seminoles’ postseason projections as the season continues.
