Florida State has an opportunity to not suffer from another slow start against an outmatched opponent when they face North Florida tonight. The Ospreys are 5-7 so far this season and come in at #199 in KenPom’s rankings. They only lost by 9 to Minnesota, but were blown out by Florida (98-66). They’re not the worst team FSU has faced this season, but the Seminoles should pull ahead early and roll in this one.
How To Watch?
The game tips at 7pm in the Tucker Center and is available to stream on ACC Network Extra (Watch ESPN). However, if you’re in/around Tallahassee, get to the game! With students out of town for Christmas Break, support from boosters and fans is crucial.
What to Expect?
The ’Noles should have numerous opportunities for steals, as the Ospreys have had the rock taken away on 14.1% of their possessions. Only one team in the nation has had more balls stolen from them than UNF. FSU is 49th in the country in defensive steal percentage. (KenPom)
More minutes for Phil Cofer are likely after his first appearance of the season (5 minutes) came against Southern Missouri State on Monday. With just three games left before the start of conference play (and a nine-day break between the final two) it’d be a great time to get Cofer up to speed. The many benefits of having last season’s leading scorer back in the lineup have been covered, but it also provides the opportunity to see how new players fit into different lineups with Cofer.
KenPom predicts FSU by 20.
