Update: As we projected, the ’Noles did indeed rise in both polls, up to No. 9 in the country.
It was a good week for Florida State hoops, as the No. 11 Seminoles went 3-0, with comfortable wins over Southeast Missouri State, North Florida, and Saint Louis to improve to 11-1 on the season. Now, FSU will see if its success is rewarded in the national polls.
And there’s good reason to expect as much. No. 7 Auburn lost to unranked NC State, and No. 9 North Carolina came up short against No. 19 Kentucky. Those results could very well see the ’Noles return to the top 10. Of course, Florida State has already been there this season, earning a No. 10 ranking just the other week prior to dropping a spot after some time off.
FSU is off now for Christmas, and will play again next on New Year’s Day against Winthrop. Be sure to check back here, as we’ll update this piece when the polls come out.
