NCAA Baseball: College World Series-Florida State vs LSU Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

The Florida State baseball team opens up their season after a very successful 2017 campaign that ended in a College World Series appearance. They open with the reigning Big East Champion and winners of three of the last four Big East Tournaments, Xavier Musketeers.

The Seminoles once again have high expectations this season as they are ranked in the top five in all six of the major polls. They are also predicted to perform well in the conference earning 10 of the 14 votes as the overall champion and 13 of 14 votes to win the Atlantic Division while head coach Mike Martin is just 32 wins from the all-time winningest coach in collegiate baseball history.
