FSU doesn’t play until tomorrow, but there are a bunch of games today that could influence where (or if) Florida State fits into the NCAA Tournament. Per the most recent bracketmatrix.com update, FSU has moved up to the highest 8-seed. Here is who you should pull for.
Texas at Oklahoma (12 PM, ESPN)
Unless you figure FSU is gonna go nuts in the final weeks, probably a safe bet that the Seminoles won’t catch the Sooners. So we’d like Texas to lose.
Missouri at LSU (2 PM)
Mizzou is a seed or two ahead of Florida State. If the ‘Noles want to catch them, then losing this road game would be a good start.
Florida at Vanderbilt (4 PM)
This is a tough one. The Gators are one of FSU’s best wins, but a loss to Vandy and FSU may pass them. Since it’s UF, go Dores!
Nevada at Utah State (6 PM, CBS Sports)
Nevada is one ahead of FSU on the s-curve. Playing in the Mountain West gives them plenty of chances for questionable losses. This would be one. Go Aggies!
Oklahoma State at TCU (8PM, ESPN2)
The Cowboys beat FSU, so we really need them to be strong down the stretch. Plus, TCU is right behind the Seminoles. This would be a huge outcome if OSU can pull the road win.
North Carolina at Louisville (8:15, ESPN)
FSU has beaten both, but won’t catch UNC in the s-curve. Louisville, meanwhile, is probably a seed or so behind the ‘Noles. Go Heels!
Marquette at Creighton (10 PM)
Creighton is probably just ahead of the Seminoles. Let’s do this, Marquette.
St. Mary’s at Portland (10 PM)
The Gaels did FSU a huge solid by losing at San Francisco. Lose at Portland and they’ll drop behind the ‘Noles for good.
Other out of conference foes in action: George Washington, Kennesaw State, Rutgers, The Citadel, Colorado State
