It hasn’t been there since early in the season, but it’s back: that little number next to Florida State’s name indicating a top-25 ranking. The Seminoles have rejoined the ranked, securing the No. 25 spot in the latest AP Poll, released earlier on Monday.
Following a week that included home victories over (now) No. 15 Clemson as well as woeful Pittsburgh, the ’Noles pushed their ACC record to 8-7 and earned 63 votes to nab the poll’s final spot. At present, FSU is securely in the NCAA Tournament field, and the ranking merely reflects that. The Seminoles now have a week off before traveling to Raleigh for their lone regular-season matchup against NC State.
The other ranked ACC teams are Virginia (No. 1), Duke (No. 5), North Carolina (No. 10), and Clemson (No. 15). Florida State in the only ranked team from the Sunshine State. The ’Noles remain unranked in the USA Today Coaches Poll, sitting in 29th position.
