The Florida State Seminoles (25-6, 12-4 ACC) have earned the #3 seed in the Albany region of the NCAA Tournament. The ’Noles will play their first two rounds in Tallahassee. They’ll open against the Sun Belt conference champion and 14th seeded University of Arkansas-Little Rock (23-9, 17-1 Sun Belt). The game is scheduled for Saturday, March 17th at 11am on ESPN2.
Joining the ’Noles and the Trojans in the Tallahassee Regional are the sixth seeded University of South Florida Bulls (26-7, 13-3 AAC) who finished second to UConn in the American Conference. The fourth team in the regional will be the 11th seeded Buffalo Bulls (27-5, 16-2 MAC). These Bulls won the MAC regular season title but fell in the conference title game to Central Michigan.
If the Seminoles get through this region and the seeds hold, they’d meet the second-seeded and defending champion South Carolina Gamecocks in the Sweet 16. The UConn Huskies would meet the winner of that game in the Elite Eight if the seeds hold.
