FSU basketball ends season on a high note in latest NCAA bracketology

That’s how you close out the regular season.

NCAA Basketball: Boston College at Florida State
FSU wins their final game of the regular season
Glenn Beil-USA TODAY Sports

It was a good regular season for Florida State men’s basketball, despite the ups and downs.

They were rewarded for an 85-76 win over Boston College on Senior Night in Joe Lunardi’s latest bracketology. The ‘Noles (20-10) finish off the regular season projected as a 9-seed. They’re slated to face Creighton in the first round of the West region. A win over the Blue Jays means it’s likely on to face the Kansas Jayhawks in the second round.

The Seminoles ended a rough two-game losing streak that included an ugly loss at NC State and a heartbreaker at Clemson. The win over Boston College moved FSU to No. 8 in the ACC. The garnet and gold finish with a 9-9 conference record. Lunardi also has the ‘Noles at No. 36 in his daily BPI.

Teamrankings.com isn’t as kind as Lunardi. The website has the Seminoles as a 10-seed, giving them a 60% chance to make the NCAA tournament. The website’s projection of Florida State going 1-2 in their final three games ended up being spot on.

FSU is up to a 9-seed on bracketmatrix.com. The website has the ‘Noles seated one spot above 9-seed NC State. Florida State begins the ACC Tournament this Wednesday against the Louisville Cardinals. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN at 12:00PM.
