Under Coach Leonard Hamilton, the Seminoles have won at least one ACC Tournament game in six straight seasons. If they extend that streak to seven, the ’Noles will be an absolute lock for the NCAA Tournament. A loss, if coupled with some bad happenings in bubble land, means “Seminole Nation” will be sweating come Selection Sunday.
8-seed FSU gets a rubber match with 9-seed Louisville. The winner advances to play Virginia, the unanimous No. 1 team in the nation.
These teams are no strangers, as the former Metro Conference foes have already played twice this season, each team winning on the road.
Louisville (19-12, 9-9) has lost four of its last five games, albeit against a brutal schedule. If they lose to Florida State, they’re almost assuredly heading for the NIT.
That would be a huge disappointment for a team featuring eight blue-chip recruits.
Florida State, meanwhile, is probably in the dance win or lose. But they don’t want to leave their fate up to a bunch of guys in suits.
The game tips at noon from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and will be broadcast on ESPN. The game opened in Vegas as a pick’em.
