After missing the entirety of the 2017 season with a knee injury this off-season has not been kind to Deondre Francois whom is now facing misdemeanor marijuana charges as first reported by the Tallahassee Democrat. It’s not his first run in with the police this off-season as he (Francois) had to call the police to his home to handle a domestic incident.

New Head Coach Willie Taggart is aware of the charges & responded briefly:

New football coach Willie Taggart provided a statement to the Democrat Thursday night

“We are aware of the situation and it is being handled internally.”

The news comes just two days before FSU’s spring game; a game Francois is not expected to participate in regardless. Willie Taggart has preached all off-season about accountability & reestablishing discipline; weeks ago he challenged Francois to mature and become the kind of teammate and leader worthy of guiding his teammates.

This appears to be a step in the wrong direction.
