The Seminoles began the week with another loss to Florida. This time, 1-0 in Jacksonville, despite an outstanding pitching performance behind Andrew Karp. They did bounce back on Thursday and Friday by defeating No. 18 ranked Louisville before losing the finale on Saturday afternoon. The 2-2 record was enough to move Florida State up 1 spot in D1 Baseball’s poll.

Noteworthy

  • 11 teams of last week’s top 25 lost their weekend series, with 6 of them losing to un-ranked teams.
  • Florida had a very good week winning a mid-week slate over FSU and easily sweeping, then 8th ranked, Vanderbilt. The Gators might have a better team this year than what they had last year and certainly deserve the top spot after a 4-0 week against top 10 teams.
  • The ACC now has 4 (FSU, NC State, Clemson and Duke) teams in the top 15 which ties it with the SEC for the most representation.

FSU in other polls

FSU moved up 1 in Baseball America’s poll. The ‘Noles now sit at 4.

Florida State host Jacksonville on Tuesday before traveling to Atlanta to face Georgia Tech this weekend.
