Derwin James celebrates with fellow FSU first-round pick Jalen Ramsey

The hitters just keep on coming from the Seminole secondary.

Former ’Nole defensive back Jalen Ramsey knows a thing or two about covering talent. In just his second year in the NFL, Ramsey, a 2016 first-round draft pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars, was honored as a 2017 NFL All-Pro cornerback, alongside fellow Seminole Xavier Rhodes of the Minnesota Vikings.

And true to form, Ramsey showed some more blanket coverage during the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft on Thursday night, when he was right there with Florida State safety Derwin James, the first-round selection of the Los Angeles Chargers. James will head to LA as a great steal for the Chargers, who were able to snag probably the best value of the first round.

FSU has certainly made waves of late with its success recruiting on the left coast. Perhaps James, a Haines City, Fla. native, heading west is a nice little example of balance in the football universe. Or maybe the Chargers just weren’t as stupid as a number of teams to pass on James. Your call. Either way, enjoy the video of James and Ramsey celebrating a life-changing moment, included below.
