It’s been a lot of fun covering Seminoles receiver Auden Tate over the last couple of seasons. File that under things that a member of the FSU media can say, if not secondaries to have faced the ’Noles.
And the Bengals hope that Tate (6’4 7/8, 228) will continue his tear at the next level. He certainly left Florida State on a high note, pulling in a trio of touchdowns in his final game, an FSU thrashing of Southern Miss in the Independence Bowl.
A quiet guy, Tate let his on-field performances do his talking, snagging 16 TDs over the last two seasons with the ’Noles. He doesn’t have blinding speed, but Tate knows how to use his length and frame to his advantage. And he’s not alone on the Bengals’ roster, joining fellow former FSU players Bobby Hart and Kermit Whitfield (Whitfield is on the practice squad).
