FSU baseball holds steady in polls

A 2-2 week keeps FSU right where they were.

Florida State hosts Stetson Steve Johnson

Noteworthy

  • NC State hosted North Carolina for the ACC lead but couldn’t win a game. UNC swept the Wolfpack and have now won 5 straight ACC series after falling to Florida State in March. The Tar Heels have gone 17-3 since that meeting and now lead the ACC.
  • Miami was not the only ACC team looking get to keep their faint post-season hopes alive. Virginia got swept at home by Clemson losing all 3 games by 1 run. Neither team is likely to make the post season, Miami’s 2nd year in a row after a 44-year streak and Virginia for the 1st time in 15 years.
  • Outside the ACC TCU made some noise taking 2 of 3 from Texas Tech. At 22-18 TCU could still make the tournament but they have a tough road ahead with West Virginia and Texas still on the slate. TCU is currently 8-9 in the Big 12 and needs to at least get to .500 in conference play. It’s been a tough season for the pre-season top 10 Horned Frogs but they still have a bit of life left in them.

FSU in other polls

Florida State moved up 1 spot to 16 in Baseball America’s poll.

No games in the mid-week as FSU tries to get a bit healthy before heading to Atlantic Division leader Clemson Tigers for 3 games.
