A series loss to Georgia Tech drops FSU out of the top 10

The week started well for Florida State as the Seminoles beat Jacksonville and Georgia Tech scoring 5+ runs in each game. However, they could only must 4 runs in the next 2 games and lost to the Yellow Jackets. FSU dropped from 6 to 12 in D1 Baseball’s poll.

Noteworthy

  • NC State enters the top 5 at #4. The Wolfpack are leading the ACC with a lead leading 11 wins. They are 0.5 game up on Duke for the conference lead and a full game up on Clemson for the Atlantic lead. Florida State is 3 games back.
  • North Carolina re-enters the polls after a 2-1 series win over Miami and a mid-week win against South Carolina. After dropping the series to Florida State the Tar Heels reeled off 7 straight wins after dropping the rain-shortened series finale to Miami on Sunday.
  • The ACC now has 5 teams ranked trailing only the SEC, whic has 8 teams ranked and 3 of the top 5 teams in the country. The ACC only has 1 team in the top 10.
