To no ones surprise Florida State demolished Mount St. Mary’s to the tune of 10 to 0.
Three Up:
- Karp had a very good outing going all 7 innings (games today are only 7 innings) without giving up any runs and just 2 hits. While the opponent was certainly overmatched no walks on the day is always encouraging. Karp did what you’d expect him to do and that’s great no matter the opponent, especially considering he started the year in the 4th spot of the rotation.
- FSU only had 8 hits on the day but they worked their offense by earning 9 walks giving themselves plenty of chances. They certainly cashed in on their chances with 5 extra base hits and almost all of them with runners on base.
- Yesterday we knocked the Seminoles for not giving Raleigh a rest late in the game. However, Martin chose the early game to give Jonathan Foster the start behind the plate and give al Raleigh a break for the game, a very good decision.
Three One Down:
- FSU’s uniforms weren’t great. Bring back the banana yellows!
On Deck:
Game 2 of the double header starts at 5pm.
